SMASH SMS Terms & Conditions

These SMS Terms & Conditions (“SMS Terms”) govern the SMASH text messaging program (the “Program”) operated by SmashScrap.ca LTD (“SMASH,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

These SMS Terms apply to SMS/text messages we send in connection with our services, including messages sent from:

• 1-855-762-7474 (1-855-SMASH-74) — toll-free (Canada and United States)
• 343-337-6274 (343-33SMASH) — Canadian local number

1) Covered Websites and Services

2) Types of Messages You May Receive

Depending on how you interact with us, you may receive:

B2B users/business contacts (smashscrap.com / smashrecycling.ca):

• Two-factor authentication (2FA) and security verification codes
• Account notifications (including account status/verification updates)
• Customer care/support messages
• Shipping, freight, pickup/delivery, and transaction-related updates

Public lead-gen users (smash-cars, getmyscrap, getmyscrapcar, sell-scrapmetal, sell-myscrapcar, sellyourscrap, best-scrap-prices, best-catalytic-converter-price, best-scrap-cat-prices, best-scrap-converter-prices, best-scrap-metal-prices, scrap-metal-prices, scrap-yard-near-me, cashforcars-usa, cash-forcars, cashfor-cars, cashforcars-canada):

• Quote follow-ups related to your request
• Scheduling/pickup coordination
• Customer care/support related to your request

Promotional messages — separate, optional opt-in only:

• Special offers, price alerts, and recycling promotions

Promotional messages are a separate consent with its own checkbox, apart from the service messages listed above. We send them only to people who checked that promotional box. Consenting to the service messages above never enrols you in promotional messages, and we do not send promotional SMS blasts to anyone who has not opted in to them.

3) How You Opt In (Consent)

You may opt in by:

• Providing your mobile number and affirmatively consenting during registration or account settings on smashscrap.com or smashrecycling.ca; or
• Providing your mobile number and affirmatively consenting on a quote, contact, or lead form, or when creating a public seller account, on any of the websites listed in Section 1; or
• Otherwise expressly requesting SMS communication from us in a compliant written/digital workflow.

By opting in, you confirm you are the account holder/authorized user of the number.

Where a form presents two consent checkboxes, the first covers the service messages in Section 2 and the second covers promotional messages. The promotional checkbox is optional: you can leave it unchecked and still register and use our services.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

4) Message Frequency

Message frequency varies. Frequency depends on your activity (2FA/login events, account updates, quote/scheduling activity, support interactions, shipping updates).

5) Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier may charge for SMS/data under your plan.

6) Opt Out (STOP)

Reply STOP to any message from 1-855-762-7474 or 343-337-6274 to opt out. We may send a one-time confirmation and then stop non-exempt messages unless you opt in again.

8) Carrier Disclaimer

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

9) Privacy + Mobile Information

We may maintain records such as your phone number, consent status, opt-in/out timestamps, message metadata, and related account/lead/support information needed to operate the Program and comply with law.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

We may share information with service providers that help deliver/support SMS (e.g., messaging vendors, telecom providers, hosting/support tools) under appropriate restrictions.

10) Jurisdictions

Intended for users in Canada (excluding Quebec) and the United States.

11) Changes

We may update these SMS Terms; updates are effective when posted with a revised “Last Updated” date.
