A marketplace, not a buyer
SMASH does not buy your scrap. We run the marketplace. You list a load, vetted businesses send offers, and you choose the one that works for you.
It adds to the buyers you already sell to. It does not replace them. Keep your regular buyers, and use SMASH when you want more offers or a clearer price on a load.
An offer is only as good as the details behind it. SMASH helps you put photos, weights, grades and terms into one clean listing, so a buyer can make a real offer.

Buyers who have never heard of your yard can see your load and bid on it.

Sellers review submitted offers and their terms. Buyer bids stay sealed from competing buyers.

How a sale works
Palletize and weigh
Stack the material, weigh it and note the grade. Rims, wire, cats or cores, same idea.
Give every package an ID
Each pallet or box gets its own package ID in SMASH, with a label you print.
Build the sale
Create the sale with SMASH AI or the Sales tab. Add photos, weights and grades.
Set your terms and invite bids
You set the minimum, the sale window, pickup or delivery and payment terms. Vetted buyers bid on your terms or send counter terms. You never have to accept.
Accept and get the paperwork
SMASH sends confirmations and generates the invoice, packing list and bill of lading. Need a truck? We can help arrange freight.
The buyer checks it in and pays you
The buyer checks the material in when it arrives. Payment goes straight from the buyer to you under the agreed terms.
Listing at auction is free. SMASH charges the seller a commission on completed auction sales.

Every converter model is different. Final value depends on the assay, treatment charges, metal lease rates and hedging. You can't weigh a load and check a market screen.

One record per converter
Each unit gets its own entry with photos, and every pallet or box gets a label you print.
Donor vehicle details
Record the VIN from the car, a tag or an invoice. SMASH decodes it.
Who logged it, and when
Every entry is stamped with the worker, the date and the time.
The rules for converter records are different in every province and state. SMASH helps your crew capture and organize the information. Your yard still applies the markings and keeps the records your jurisdiction requires.

Every company goes through an identity check before it can trade. No anonymous accounts.
Buyers approved before they bid
SMASH checks and approves every buyer before they can place a bid.
Trust is earned
A new seller builds trust one sale at a time. If a load does not match the listing, the buyer documents it and it is settled under the sale terms. That can mean rejected material.
Accounts locked down
2FA sign in is on by default, and your crew only sees what their role allows. Workers build inventory without seeing sale prices.
SMASH is an associate member of the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA), and a member of Automotive Recyclers of Canada (ARC) and the Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA).
Canadian yards, US buyers
Buyers in different places value grades differently. A US buyer or an export market may pay more for a load than the buyers you know. Or they may not.
SMASH lets a Canadian yard see those offers. Then you decide if the deal still works once freight, the exchange rate and the other terms are in. Each sale can accept CAD, USD or both.

Does SMASH buy my scrap?
No. SMASH is a marketplace. Vetted businesses make offers on your load and you decide who to sell to. The buyer pays you directly.
Do I have to drop my current buyers?
No. SMASH adds buyers. It does not replace the ones you have. Plenty of loads will still go to your regular buyers, and that is fine.
What does it cost?
Opening an account and listing a sale at auction are free. When an auction sale completes, SMASH charges the seller a commission. Freight booked through SMASH and other SMASH services, like the Scrap Feed membership, are priced separately.
Who handles pickup and freight?
You set pickup or delivery in your sale terms. If you or the buyer need a truck, SMASH can help arrange freight. Freight booked through SMASH is quoted and billed separately.
How do I get paid?
The buyer pays you directly under the payment terms you set. SMASH does not hold or process the payment for your material.
Can US buyers bid on my load?
Yes. Vetted buyers in Canada and the US can bid. You choose whether a sale accepts CAD, USD or both, and you compare offers after freight and terms.
What if a load doesn't match the listing?
The buyer documents the difference and it is settled under the sale terms. That can mean a price change or rejected material. Good photos, weights and grades up front help avoid it.
Is SMASH right for every load?
No. It won't be the right fit for every sale or every yard. It helps most when you want more offers or a clearer price on a load.
